ArchiTerra generates modifiable terrain models within ArchiCAD by either free-form design or by importing DXF or text files.

ArchiTerra 2.0 Tool Palette Summary:

- Import Text File
- Import DXF File
- Point Tool
- Constraint Tool
- Outline Tool
- Contour Line Tool
- Terrain Tool
- Plateaux Tool
- Road Tool
- Road Longitudinal Section Tool
- Basin Tool
- Building Tool

- ArchiTerra Help in Line

Improved Features

Data Import
- Imports a variety of DXF and Txt files than were previously problematic now also imports survey data from lines, splines, polylines, etc.
- ArchiTerra 2.0 provides also a filter tool, to simplify the file to increase speed.
- Offset function to relocate imported file near the ArchiCAD origin.
- New data structure: hotspot and lines, instead of library parts (the previous library parts were the ArchiTerra_Points and ArchiTerra_Tie).
- The result is a much less heavier file with 30%-40% speed improvement.

Interface
- Uses floating palette technology
- Less cumbersome
- Transforming contour lines from a bitmap is done in a fraction of the time

Contour lines
- Contour lines are not inside the mesh = speed improvement
- Main and secondary lines
- Height visualization
- Very fast calculation and update

Plateau
- Now select digging and embankment angles (example: digging 60° embankment 45°). No longer just 90° digging and embankment.

New Features

Roads
- Designs representation of roads for creation of a more realistic terrain
- Features included: selecting the path, the road width, the segment length for later manipulation, left digging and embankment angles, right digging and embankment angles, and material.

Road Longitudinal section
- Quantifies: project heights, terrain heights, partial distances, progressive distances, straight stretch and curved stretch, and road slope %.
- Allows the user to modify the roads, moving them above or below the terrain.

Basin
- Fills level of terrain with water or any other material to create a basin.

Buildings
- Create simple buildings with the material of your choice to represent structures on the terrain.

Colored Areas
- Paint parts of your terrain different colors to represent, farmland, dirt areas, etc.

Walls
- Draw walls using lines, curves, and/or splines, and then designate thickness and height.
- Wall height remains constant following the terrain.

Calculations
- Creates various types of calculation pages that can include:

Product Description

The ArchiTerra plug-in was devised and created to solve a widespread problem among ArchiCAD users, which is the creation and management of three-dimensional land models.

Designers often need to give a context to their projects within certain surroundings to create a more lifelike environment in order to monitor the project°s environmental impact while still in the planning stage.

The same need may arise for purely urbanistic or landscaping purposes, and indeed, it is often necessary to create 3D land models of varying sizes.

After installing ArchiTerra, the ArchiCAD user has a new set of tools at his disposal for the quick and simple creation of 3D land models that are fully compatible with ArchiCAD.

ArchiTerra permits the user to import land relief directly on to the ArchiCAD window through text files (lists of points) or DXF documents, or to create new land using ArchiTerra commands, which can be used to enter all the pertinent information to describe the 3D land model by means of points, constraints, contour curves and modelling tools.

ArchiTerra is an indispensable tool for all ArchiCAD users who need to manage the modelling of a site or to create complex land features.

The ArchiTerra package consists of three components:

The Add-On named 'ArchiTerra' that adds the necessary commands for the modelling of the land to ArchiCAD.

The 'ArchiTerra Tool' library containing a series of simple intelligent objects that can be used as land modelling tools.

The 'ArchiTerra exteriors' library containing a series of 3D parametric elements (trees, garden furniture, external light sources, etc.) to create a realistic environment within the modelled land created with ArchiTerra.

Work methods

The interactive insertion mode allows the user to define the information describing the morphology of the land directly in the ArchiCAD window (even permitting the user to use a digitized scanned map as a guide). In this mode the user manually inserts the data describing the land.

The types of information to define the land layout are topographic points, constraints and contour curves.

* Topographic points: land points are inserted with the mouse, providing the following information: Co-ordinates, Code/Description.

* Constraints: constraints force triangulation according to the specifications defined by the user, 'joining' two points with a constraint and allowing the user to define a sequence of points as an obstacle.

* Contour Curves: ArchiCAD tools (Polylines, Arcs and Splines) are used directly to draw contour curves. The basic idea is to first draw the direction of the contour curve with instant and effective results and then to convert these primitive graphics into Points and Constraints.

In the Import mode, ArchiCAD users can, thanks to ArchiTerra features, read information directly from lists of points (TXT format) and DXF drawings. In this mode ArchiTerra automatically places points, contour lines, and constraints according to the imported file°s specifications.

It is then possible to calculate contour lines (primary and secondary), model the land through leveling, basins, roads and walls with the desired shape and size on the 3D Mesh created by ArchiTerra.

The user can configure the escarpment angle by adding or subtracting, calculating surfaces, perimeters and the volume of the land in question.

Final processing of the data inserted (through interactive or import mode) produces a three-dimensional Mesh which can be edited and modified by the user at will using the standard ArchiCAD functions. ArchiTerra solves the problem of modelling and managing land with efficiency and simplicity. ArchiTerra works within ArchiCAD, eliminating the need to open other applications, while maintaining the original program°s philosophy and natural work method.

Requires ArchiCAD 13, ArchiCAD 12, ArchiCAD 11, ArchiCAD 10, ArchiCAD 9, or ArchiCAD 8 / 8.1

Please note:
Cigraph plug-ins now use a protection key/dongle. Configuring a new dongle or adding a new plug-in to an existing dongle can take a full business day for Cigraph to complete. Plug-ins can be used on any ArchiCAD station and are no longer limited to use with only one ArchiCAD dongle. Single and network usage are not possible on the same Cigraph dongle. A single Cigraph dongle can support up to 10 different individual Cigraph plug-ins at the same time. Or, it can be used to support up to 5 different network plug-ins.This plug-in does not support academic/keyless ArchiCAD versions, ArchiCAD Start Edition, or Constructor. If you serialize this to a PayPerUse key you will lose the ability to use your Cigraph add-on when your PayPerUse time runs out. CAD Garage will not accept returns of this product if it does not work with them. You are encouraged to contact CAD Garage if you have questions on compatibility.
