Welcome to Artlantis
, the rendering software that make architects and designers’ dreams come true. Artlantis is the rendering software used by more then 85,000
architects, designers and urban design professionals in more than 80 countries.
With the launch of Artlantis 6
Abvent has created the latest version of the fastest, stand-alone 3D rendering application developed especially for architects and designers. Artlantis 5 combines the most advanced and efficient tools for rendering photo-realistic 3D projects, Artlantis
interfaces directly with many leading architectural CAD and BIM software titles, such as ArchiCAD™, Revit™, SketchUp™ Pro, Vectorworks™, and Arc+™. Native support for many popular file formats, such as DXF, DWG, 3DS, DWF, OBJ, and FBX, allows Artlantis to seamlessly interact with nearly all leading 3D CAD and BIM software on the market today.
Available in two versions, Artlantis
offers a product line suited to different needs and practices. Artlantis Render is developed for design professionals (architects, interior designers, urban planners, landscapers, exhibition organizers, exhibitors, etc.) who need to create very high quality still renderings. Artlantis Studio, on the other hand, not only creates exceptional, high-resolution still images, but also offers an enhanced suite of tools to generate dynamic renderings, such as iVisit 3D panoramas, VR objects, and animations, that provide interactivity with and motion through the project.
Like previous versions, Artlantis 6's
productivity is based on a founding concept: real-time Radiosity preview. Regardless of the change in the scene settings (materials, lighting, environment), the preview is updated instantly. You control your work, you confirm your changes, and you run the calculation in high definition for your final image without wasting time.New features in Artlantis 6
Artlantis 6 – New features
To create stunning images, Artlantis 6 now includes its own built-in physical engine, emphasizing physical rendering quality, precision, material accuracy, and energy consumption.
Choose among many pre-set modes (indoor, outdoor, low light) and different definitions (speed, medium, quality), to quickly set the best results!
During calculation, white model rendering changes all surfaces to white except for those that are transparent. Lights maintain their color for sophisticated environments.
White Balance allows you to adjust the dominant color of a scene to the ambient lighting. Simply set this new parameter to automatic color mode or select a reference color recognized as white in the 3D scene.
This new option in Artlantis allows users to display a global ambient occlusion to create virtual shadows in small areas where natural light doesn’t go. It brings more depth and relief to both interior and exterior scenes.
LIGHTS & NEON
By default, Artlantis offers 8 IES pre-set profiles. Artlantis 6 now allows you to import downloaded IES profiles from manufacturers’ websites. These files are used to simulate realistic illumination of your projects. However, Artlantis 6 allows you to easily edit the brightness, color, direction and opening angle for even more flexibility. Artlantis offers two illumination methods: Automatic Light Adjustment and ISO/Shutter. By choosing the Automatic Light Adjustment setting, the lights and neon power used in the scene are automatically adjusted to the sky and sun illumination. In addition, neon lights have been completely updated for this version with considerable gains in terms of quality and calculation speed.
When using the site insertion feature, Artlantis 6 offers a new and simple projection process with more accurate calculations. After aligning the XYZ axis in the 2D view and in the preview window, the model is easily positioned on the background image.
Integrated Alpha Mask Editor
This revolutionary tool allows you to add transparency to a foreground image directly in Artlantis to enhance the quality of your projects.
With a simple click in the preview window on the reference plane, you can define the position and the orientation of a laser beam. A red line appears in the scene that can be used to automatically and accurately snap objects or textures into the project.
CATALOG & MEDIA
It is now even easier to access the Artlantis Media Store. In order to satisfy users who want to customize their catalog with their own media, Artlantis 6 allows you to add custom folders from Level II of the catalog. New display features allow you to view the latest media used, shaders and objects in the current project, or those added to the selection. A new tool makes it easy to drop media from the selection randomly into the scene with repeating clicks.
The preview interactively navigates in block display or surface display, with or without automatic switches in OpenGL. Open GL is displayed in color, hidden line, wireframe, or a combination.
In all inspectors, you can now search for a specific name.
With the display filter, you can now quickly find the material of an object -- the objects in a picture, the shaders of a project ...
The KeyServer allows you to automatically start Artlantis 6 on Mac OS, and as a service on Windows. You can also disconnect a user’s server license if necessary.
When creating an object, it is now easy to define its orientation in the project.
On Mac OS, Artlantis 6 now supports Retina display for high-quality display of your projects
A long-awaited change: Artlantis 6 features automatic back-up.
A new vignette effect is available in post-processing.
Artlantis is a stand-alone rendering solution that is committed to interoperability. Abvent, developers of Artlantis, have worked hard on the exchange of data between Artlantis and the leading CAD applications such as ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, SketchUp, and Revit in order to make 3D models more accessible to you.
As a result, Artlantis reads the latest versions of the most common file formats such as .dxf, .dwg, .dwf, .fbx or .obj. SketchUp files can be opened directly in Artlantis, which is a big step toward a direct data transfer between a modeler and an independent renderer.
Built-in plug-ins allow the many popular BIM and CAD software to export 3D models directly to the Artlantis file format:
